Sclerotium Root Rot on pothos
What's Happening
Sclerotium rolfsii produces persistent sclerotia in soil that germinate to cause basal stem rot in pothos. The fungus secretes cellobiose dehydrogenase and other cell-wall-degrading enzymes typical of necrotrophic pathogens. Infection drastically reduces root development and plant vigor.
