Indoor environments below 50% humidity accelerate reproduction cycles from 18 to 10 days. The waxy coating on Strelitzia leaves provides anchoring points for eggs, while poor air circulation prevents natural predator access. Heavy infestations produce honeydew that promotes sooty mold, blocking photosynthesis and causing rapid leaf deterioration within 2-3 weeks.
