Humidity: The Non-Negotiable

Anthurium clarinervium hails from Mexican limestone cliffs where ambient moisture stays above 70%. In most homes, baseline humidity sits at 30-50%. Your plant adapts temporarily but the leaves lose their velvety texture and develop brown edges within months.

Keep humidity at 65-80% year-round. A humidifier near the plant — not misting, which sits on the velvet and encourages fungal spots — is the only reliable method. Grouping it with other aroids helps, but in dry climates or during winter when heating runs, a dedicated humidifier is non-negotiable.

If you see the leaf edges browning and the surface losing its suede-like feel, humidity is the first thing to check.

Light: Bright Indirect, Never Direct
