Information we collect
If you subscribe to the newsletter, complete the mortality quiz, or request a checklist, we store the email address you submit and optional source tags that record which form you used. If you buy a course, the checkout provider (Whop) processes payment details; we receive the email and product entitlement needed to send access mail. Server logs may include IP address, user-agent, and requested path so we can operate rate limits and investigate abuse.
Cookies and analytics
Analytics and advertising pixels (including Google Analytics, Pinterest, Meta, and Microsoft Clarity) load only after you accept optional cookies in the consent banner. Essential cookies are limited to remembering that consent choice. You can use the site, including diagnosis pages and the public API, without accepting marketing cookies.
How we use information
Email addresses are used to send the newsletter, drip sequences you opted into, purchase receipts, and course access links. We do not sell subscriber lists. Aggregated, non-identifying plant-care statistics may appear in reports such as the State of Houseplant Health. Public API responses contain knowledge-base content, not your personal data.
Retention and deletion
Newsletter contacts remain until you unsubscribe via the link in any message or until you email [email protected] and ask us to delete the address. Course entitlement records are kept for as long as access is valid so we can restore a lost link. Security logs are rotated on a rolling window measured in weeks, not years, unless needed for an active abuse investigation.
Children
Plant Grail is general-audience plant care content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child submitted an email through a form, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will update this page when collection practices change. The heading and URL remain /privacy/ so agents and search engines can keep a stable trust anchor. Questions about this policy go to [email protected].
