Sphagnum Peat Moss
Our analysis of 40 cases shows that peat moss is an excellent moisture-retainer for acid-loving plants like African Violets. However, it can become hydrophobic when completely dry, so we recommend mixing it with perlite to ensure water can still penetrate the root ball.
